AEW 2022 enabled the development of a unified message and approach which African leaders and energy stakeholders shared with the globe at COP 27 in Egypt, one that includes Africa maximizing the development and exploitation of its vast untapped oil and gas reserves to lift 600 million of its people out of energy poverty, ensure global energy security whilst ensuring stable economic growth. They also reiterated the need for the continent to maximize the use of local financial resources and international partners to accelerate activities across the entire oil and gas value chain.
